From the ancient aboriginal understanding, dreaming is an intangible world that is an intimate and indispensable aspect of the tangible one. Shamans, the earliest known dreamworkers, have always used their dreams to get knowledge from guiding spirits. Egyptian people, that still amazes and continues to intrigue our today’s world, used dreams as a source of wisdom and intuition. YES, dreams are an important source of guidance.

Quick reminder:

  • Dreams are natural and necessary to your mental health and well-being. Dreaming takes place in the lighter stages of each cycle when brain waves are less slow, predominantly during stages of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. The first dream period generally begins within 90 minutes after falling asleep.

  • Dream images produce physiological responses that are often the same responses that you have in a real-life event.

What are dreams?

How can we assign meaning to such crazy dreams sometimes?

Dreams are direct messages from the unconscious mind, and one of the vitally important functions of the unconscious mind is actually dreaming. Your dreams are metaphors for your existence and direct messages that express your unconscious experience of yourself and the world. They are the open door to your unconscious mind, and an easy and sometimes quite fun way to reach it. To enter a dream and work with it directly is an opportunity for profound unconscious shifts.

I’m sure you’re aware of the overwhelming number of books and websites that exist to help understand, interpret, analyze, and assign meaning to a dream.

The most important meaning is the truth of one’s experience, which is to be found not in interpretation but in accessing the wisdom of one’s best guide and healer, the unconscious mind. Avoiding the typical conscious interpretations of dreams, it is more likely to see deep understandings and transformations when dreams are experienced via the power of hypnosis.

Then how to access my own guidance?

Hypnotic Dreamwork TM, originated by the ingenious Randal Churchill, and seen as a revolutionary combination of therapies, brings you into a deep experience of the dream itself and allows you to find the unique relationship of the dream to your own existence.

I think it is important not to get lost in the conscious interpretation of dreams. Instead, you can explore, discover, and embrace a dream and transform your inner messages and guidance into reality with an appropriate method. Hypnotic DreamworkTM brings you into a deep experience and allows you to find the unique relationship of the dream to your own existential experience. You are able to tap into your unconscious mind’s receptivity and wisdom for a profound and long-lasting change.

The purpose of this powerful technique is to experience the dream and feel significant aspects of it at its core level – a great potential to tap into your receptivity and wisdom.

Various hypnotic methods are used that lead you into direct communication with your inner guidance to discover and uproot limiting beliefs or misconceptions and access personal insights.

Combining dreams and hypnosis is a fascinated approach to understand a dream better, to get a sense of what is it that your unconscious mind is processing and what message is it trying to deliver, and it’s quite often a lot of fun! Yes, a strawberry can talk, a tree can fly, your grandma has the voice of a cartoon, and your house is upside down. So what?

To sum up:

What if I can’t remember my dreams?

Well, you can develop dream recall and lucid dream skills!

Dream recall

It is very rare to remember our dreams or if we do, we remember them 30 mins or 1 hour after waking up and then they disappear. A feeling can stay a few more hours, then disappear also. With some practice, you can improve dream recall and get back in touch with your inner guidance! Here are some guidelines on how to do it:

  • When you go to bed, before falling asleep, give yourself some autosuggestions to recall part of a dream - or all. Keep in mind to be realistic. If you haven’t recalled a dream for a long time, start gradually with a small part, then a big chunk, then the entire dream.

  • As soon as you wake up, when your dream is still vivid, write it down in your “Dreams Book” – a book with a cover that you particularly like, or any blank book! Write as much as details as you can, as well as feelings, sensations, smells, sounds …

  • If you don’t have any image, but more kinesthetic or auditory senses, stay with that and take a moment in bed just to allow any memories of a dream or segment of a dream to come to mind. It’s important to allow the memories to come to mind and not chasing after them.

  • When you then become a dream recall expert, you can give yourself suggestions for certain kinds of dreams (finding the solution for a particular concern, asking guidance on some self-questioning, …). However, keep in mind that your unconscious mind on its own will automatically choose to dream about important points that have to be addressed in your life at the moment :)down. Very often from that point on, you cannot stop writing :)a shape that you like with your eyes, rapidly. That might help to bring back some images.

  • If you still do not recall anything, continue to relax, stop moving your eyes, and shift your awareness to some keywords (person, animal, place, house, emotion …). When a category triggers a memory or part of a dream, stay with it, and develop the memory further. Get in touch with your feelings, senses, let the dream unfold, grab a paper and a pen and start writing it down. Very often from that point on, you cannot stop writing :)

You can also read something inspiring and uplifting before sleeping. It can help raise your awareness and level of consciousness and access your inner wisdom more easily.

I wish you an amazing night tonight, full of dreams and guidance, and don’t forget to keep your lovely Dreams Book on your bedside table!
